Barley Pear Porridge

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup pearl barley
  • 2 cups milk or water
  • 1 pear diced
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Rinse barley, combine with milk/water and salt in a saucepan.
  • Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20–25 min until tender.
  • Stir in pear, cinnamon, and maple syrup. Serve warm.

Notes

Tips: Add chopped nuts for crunch or a dash of vanilla extract for flavor.
