Sift flour into a large bowl. Add sugar, salt, yeast, and milk.
Mix well until a dough is formed.
Cover bowl in plastic wrap and let rest at room temperature until it doubles in size (roughly 1 hour).
Punch dough down 2 or 3 times, cover again and let rest for another 20 minutes.
In the meantime, mix filling ingredients together in a small bowl until well combined.
When ready, separate dough into 6 equal balls. Use oil on your hands to prevent sticking.
Flatten one portion of dough, add filling (about ½ to 1 tbsp), and seal by gathering the corners. Repeat until all portions are filled.
Preheat a frying pan on medium heat. Once hot, add a thin layer of canola oil.
Place dough in a pan with enough room to flatten each a little (when pressed down with spatula).
Cook on medium heat until lightly golden, flip and press down to flatten.
Once both sides are golden, reduce heat to low and cover for about 1 minute (until filling is melted).
Repeat until all dough is used. Enjoy!
